LIBERAL, Kan. — It was the first day of classes for the majority of USD 480 on Tuesday and Seward County Community College athletes were at the elementary and middle schools to greet new and returning students.
SCCC, which began its fall classes last week, sent athletes from men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, volleyball, softball, baseball and cheer and dance to various schools around town.
The teams went to Eisenhower and Seymour Rogers middle schools and MacArthur, Cottonwood, Meadowlark, Prairie View and Sunflower elementary schools and rallied and cheered students as they walked into their schools for the first time this fall.
After the pandemic shut down activities between SCCC and USD 480 over the past year and half, the college is looking forward to working with the schools this year.
