In 2025, SCCC prepared 20 registered nurses and 22 practical nurses to enter the workforce with their credentials.

Liberal residents who want to earn an associate degree can start with one small step in a new, convenient location thanks to a late-start class offered at the Liberal Recreation Center, 950 S. Grant Ave. Interpersonal Communications, a first-year class for full credit, will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday nights at the Rec Center, with SCCC communications instructor Amy Thompson.
“We’re excited to begin the tradition of awarding an honorary degree each year with our 55th graduation,” Bennett said. “When you think about how closely aligned SCCC is with our community, this is a natural way to honor the people who contribute so much to us all.”
The Saints Stars award recognizes faculty, staff, and students at SCCC for their exceptional contributions and kindness, promoting a positive community mindset. Winners receive accolades and gift cards. Highlights include Brandee Good’s organization of a successful holiday event and the supportive efforts of various nominees like Jason Pete and Aly Chanez.
