Writers, artists, can showcase their work virtually via the online platform #SCwallofsaints
LIBERAL, KAN. (March 20, 2020) — Poetry, it is sometimes said, is all about slowing down. Pausing to notice the details. Savoring everyday beauty.
Writers — and would-be writers — have more than enough time to do just that, as the world health situation requires social distancing and changes to the best-laid plans. Seward County Community College’s beloved Annual Poetry Coffee House is no different.
“The Poetry Coffee House scheduled for April 6, 2020, has been moved to an online platform, #SCwallofsaints,” the SCCC Humanities Department announced.
Disappointed poetry lovers should take note, added organizer and SCCC English Instructor, Dr. Lori Muntz.
“The poetry contest was not canceled, and we will be announcing winners in April via our various media and social media channels,” Muntz stated.
National Poetry Months runs through the entirety of April, and the #SCwallofsaints platform has garnered a robust variety of offerings, from student photographers, journalists, writers, poets, and various friends of SCCC. Look for more information and virtual celebrations as plans develop.
