LIBERAL, Kan. – Seward County Community College will host two events to commemorate Patriots Day on Friday, September 11, a remembrance walk and a memorial ceremony.
The walk will begin at 7:45 a.m. Participants will meet in the parking areas of the SCCC Student Union and the Student Living Center before walking along Jo Ann Sharp Circle Drive. Doughnuts will be available after the walk,
The memorial ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. in the SCCC amphitheater, outside the Shank Humanities Building. The event will begin with a welcome, followed by a brief message from guest speaker Tanner Walton and moment of silence. Music will be provided by the SCCC Choir.
“Seward County Community College remembers the lives that were lost and the heroes who responded on September 11, 2001,” said SCCC President Brad Bennett. “We will honor and never forget all those who made sacrifices on that fateful day.”
The public is welcome to attend both events.
